Leveling Up the Lab: Our New Bambu Lab 3D Printer is Online
The days of spending more time calibrating a 3D printer than actually printing on it are officially behind us. We’ve just unboxed, mounted, and fired up a brand-new Bambu Lab 3D printer in the workspace, and it is already changing how we prototype and create.
If you’ve been around the maker community recently, you know the hype surrounding Bambu Lab. After running our first few test prints, we can confirm the hype is entirely justified. Here is what this new addition brings to our space:
Next-Generation Speed: Built on a CoreXY architecture, this machine flies. It pushes up to 500mm/s, meaning prints that used to take 14 hours on our older legacy machines are now finishing in under four. You can iterate on a design multiple times in a single afternoon.
Flawless First Layers (Every Time): Forget the paper trick and manual bed tramming. The Bambu Lab utilizes advanced automated bed leveling and vibration compensation before every single print. You hit "send," walk away, and come back to a perfect part.
Multi-Color and Multi-Material: Equipped with the AMS (Automatic Material System), we now have the capability to print in up to four colors or materials seamlessly in a single job. This is a game-changer for printing complex models with break-away support interfaces or adding integrated text and logos directly into your parts.
Enclosed & Material Ready: The fully enclosed chamber allows us to reliably print advanced engineering materials like ABS, ASA, and PC without warping, expanding what we can fabricate far beyond standard PLA and PETG.
What This Means for You
Our goal has always been to remove friction between your ideas and the physical world. By bringing the Bambu Lab into the shop, we are drastically reducing the learning curve for beginners while giving our advanced members a true production-grade workhorse.
Whether you are printing custom enclosures for a PCB, complex mechanical linkages, or just some high-quality tabletop miniatures, this machine is ready for it.
